STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A man accused of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s daughter will go to trial starting October 25th.
Jordan Coyle was in court on Friday, where a judge scheduled the week-long trial. on one count of repeated sexual assault of the same child and one count of interfering with child custody. Charges stem from a September 2025 AMBER Alert that was issued for the alleged victim, who went missing for two days after she got off a school bus at her home.
Coyle and the girl were found in a wooded area of Portage County. DNA evidence collected from the victim suggested that the 35-year-old had recent sexual contact with her.
The victim’s mother, Chelsea Lehmann, is also facing charges for harboring a felon and encouraging a violation of supervision.
Coyle wasn’t supposed to be living with children as a result of a previous conviction.
He remains jailed on a $1 million cash bond and faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty, due to his status as a repeat offender. A final pre-trial conference is scheduled for October 2nd.
