BRASILIA July 24 (Reuters) – Brazil estimates that newly announced U.S. tariffs will affect 23.1% of its exports, according to a government statement released on Friday.
Of that total, 16.5% of Brazilian exports will face combined U.S. duties of 37.5%, the statement said.
Washington imposed a 25% levy on several Brazilian products last week, citing what it described as unfair trade practices. On Thursday, Brazil was targeted with an additional 12.5% tariff linked to concerns over forced labor.
