MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired two players from the Cleveland Guardians as the MLB Trade Deadline approaches.
Craig Yoho and Blake Perkins have been sent to the Guardians in exchange for Catcher Bo Naylor and RHP Codi Heuer, the first of what could be several deals for Milwaukee as it looks to contend for a National League title.
Naylor has seen limited playing time this season, appearing in just 26 games with a .143 batting average and seven RBI. He is a career .199 hitter in five seasons.
Heuer has made eight appearances for Cleveland and owns an 0-1 record with an ERA of 4.66.
Yoho has made 15 appearances for Milwaukee with a 2-0 record. Perkins holds a .157 batting average in 55 games.
The Milwaukee front office is expected to be busy heading into Monday’s Trade Deadline. The Brewers are one of a handful of teams that have reached out to the Detroit Tigers for two-time AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal. They’ve also been linked to San Diego Padres Closer Mason Miller and New York Mets RHP Luke Weaver.
