Michael Timm
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — Some voters in Wisconsin Rapids will legally have the chance to vote twice within seven days.
The District 7 Alder Recall is tomorrow, October 27th, when voters will decide whether incumbent Michael Timm keeps his seat on the City Council. The challenger is Rusty Brown. Voters also have the option to write in a name.
Voters in District 7 can cast their ballots at City Hall from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The winner will serve the remainder of the term, which expires next April.
Residents returned a successful recall petition against Timm after accusations that he used his position as an Alder to intimidate a local business, which was selling ‘no data centers’ signs.
Timm says he communicated with the business through a personal email account and that his position was based on his opinion. He says he did not issue a threat or attempt to intimidate anyone, noting that management’s response indicated that they agreed with his position.
