Haunted Places
Ghosts don’t take a holiday, so we thought we’d give you a list of some of the great places around the state that are haunted year round. These are real locations where people have experienced paranormal activity.

Haunted Places in Central Wisconsin:
Cottage House Cafe
Plover, WI
Once of the town's oldest structures, the former family home opened as the Sherman House Restaurant in 1982, the establishment closed down after a few short years due to paranormal activity that included windows shattering, glasses flying of bars and counters, doors opening and closing by themselves and invsible forms that brushed past employees in some of the rooms. The current owners happen to be experienced ghost hunters.
Menominee Casino-Bingo-Hotel
Keshena, WI
Reports include an incident where three children were allegedly seen running around, as if playing tag, in a restricted area of the hotel. When security investigated the children were no where to be found, although they were still visible on the camera screens.
McClintock Park
Silver Cliff, WI
Rumors of strange noises and orbs that show up in photos are believed to be the related to the murder of engaged Green Bay couple Ellen Matheys and David Schuldes who where killed while on a camping trip in 1976 by a still unknown assailant.
Lake of Torches Casino
Lac Du Flambeau
An aggressive entity has been reported to have attacked cleaners in the bingo hall. The apparition of a woman has also been spotted.
Railroad Tracks off 72nd St.
Plover, WI
Legend has it that a young mother lost her two sons near the railroad tracks. Unable to locate them after a desperate search, she became so saddened that she laid across the tracks. A moment before the train came, the boys jumped out of the bushes where they had hidden only to witness their mother being killed. The boys were later admitted to a mental institution, their restless spirits can be seen walking the tracks every July.
McMillion Hotel
Antigo, WI
First known as the Vivian Hotel, the original owner committed suicide in Room 21. There were 18 reported deaths at this location from 1970 to 2003 when the hotel closed down. Reports of the haunting include black shadow figures and visitors being pushed by unseen hands. The building was demolished in 2007.
Forest Hill Cemetery
Wisconsin Rapids, WI
Reports include babies crying in the infant section, voices that call the names of cemetery visitorys, apparitions and a momument that causes mechanical objects to fail.
Hillcrest Lodge Port Townsend Resort
Townsend, WI
The Elderly Dr. Fred once lived on the third floor of this 1940s lodge. He was hit by a car on the road in front of the lodge and died from his injuries, but rumor has itula's cafe minoq he never left. He makes himself know by slamming doors, opening locked windows and moving objects around.
Tula's Cafe
Minocqua, WI
The ghost said to haunt this restuarant is believed to be a man who once died on the premises. Witensses report a misty figure spotted in the back hallway near the bathrooms, were the man passed away, objects that move on their own and cold spots.

Built in 1928 the theater is the site of many unexplained noises. The Ghost in residence, according to eyewitnesses of apparitions, is the former theater manager who passed away more than a decade ago, but apparently wasn't ready to quit his job.
Amherst Inn
Amherst, WI
Supposedly haunted by Philomae "Mae" Kedrowski, a fould tempered womoan and former owner who cursed like a sailor. The current owners have witness diminutive female figure standing at the top of the main staircase, smelt cigar smoke, and heard a women's voice swearing. However, activity has been quieted in recent years. Other reports included doors opening and closing on their own, objects moving around, strange scents and a shadowy figure rushing through and upstairs hallway.

The building is said to be haunted by former members of the club.

This intersection is said to be haunted by an old woman in a blue scarf and jacket.

On the right of Sand Acres Drive going south
The cemetery is supposedly a place where many strange goings-on happens such as a mysterious fog and unexplained lights.

This house is said to be haunted by a young boy.
Downtown YMCA
Green Bay, WI
The YMCA is said to be haunted by a young man in his twenties.
Dratford Cemetery
From Hwy 23, go east on North St. It is on both sides of the street
There is said to be many ghosts that haunt this graveyard. Everywhere from Indian chiefs to Civil Was Soldiers.
Hilbert Road
From Hwy 32/57 in Hilbert go east on W Main St and then turn right on N 1st St. The road will turn left and become E. Main St. Then Hilbert Rd which will turn right. Follow this until you see a lone tree on the side of the road.
This tree/road is said to be haunted by two men who lost their daughters.
Valley Road
From Hwy 10 in Menasha, take Cty Rd 47 north, turn left of Valley Rd, and then drive to Palisades Park
This road is said to be haunted by a young groom who was killed on the way to his wedding.

This theatre is said to be haunted by former workers and dogs.
New Moon Cafè
Oshkosh, WI
This café is said to be haunted by many victims of the Great Oshkosh Fire.
Witch Road
From Ripon, go south on Hwy 44/49, then turn left on Cty Rd KK, turn right on Callan Rd. The house will be on the left.

This old prep school is said to be haunted by the children and old residents.
