MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers had a busy weekend, adding two more top recruits to their 2027 class.
According to posts on their personal X accounts, high three-star wide receiver Steele Harris and four-star defensive lineman Yahzeen Zion are moving them into 247 Sports’ top 15 rankings nationally.
Harris, a big-body target at 6’3″ and 205 lbs from Montana, chose the Badgers over California, Arizona State, Illinois, and Michigan State. He is Wisconsin’s second 2027 wide receiver commitment, joining four-star recruit Jai Jones, who announced his deal with the Badgers back in May.
While landing Harris will be important for the future of the Badgers’ offense, the commitment of Yahzeen Zion was the program’s biggest win of the weekend, as top schools such as LSU, Oklahoma, and Penn State were all offering Zion large deals to join their teams.
Zion, who is 6’4″ and 265 lbs, is a multi-sport athlete, as he also plays basketball for his high school located in Arizona, and scouts note that Zion will make a tremendous pass rusher at the next level, as his speed-to-power skills give him the ability to play anywhere on the defensive line.
Wisconsin now ranks 13th on 247 Sports’ 2027 class rankings, with four-star cornerback/safety recruit Mekhi Williams and four-star running back Kingston Allen highlighting an impressive class so far for Luke Fickell, with many other top targets that Wisconsin has made offers to still making a commitment decision, including five-star running back David Gabriel Georges and five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales.
